Don’t forget the popular Our History:  A Story of Thomas County to Color coloring books! These beautiful coloring books were designed for 3rd- through 5th-grade reading level.  They feature charming illustrations and easy to read text.

Children are drawn into the history of their community as they color the lively pictures and discuss the text.  Our History coloring books give teachers a unique motivational tool for teaching about local history and the community

These copyrighted books are available to schools at the special price of $2.00 per book.

Museum Field Trips and Educational Programs

The Thomas County Museum of History proudly presents fun-filled, content-rich experiences for students in Grades 2 through 12. 

Museum Field Trips

Field trips to the Museum of History align with Fourth, Fifth, Eighth, and

U. S. History Georgia Performance Standards. 

Thanks to a grant from the Thomasville Antiques Show Foundation, Inc., these field trips are FREE to student groups from Thomas County. 

 

Explore Historic Buildings

Immerse your students in the historic buildings on the Museum grounds.  Visit the Rufus Smith home, built before 1860; the Emily Joyner House, built in 1877 by an Confederate widow; the 1893 Metcalfe Courthouse; and, the 1893 Ewart Family Bowling Alley.
