The Civil War Travel Trunk will bring museum-style reproduction artifacts, documents, maps, letters, photographs and more to your classroom. Make national events more interesting and meaningful by tying them to local history. The people and materials associated with the photographs, letters, diaries, battle reports and more, are all real people who lived in Thomas County. Other documents are also from Thomas County. The Resource Book included in the Civil War Travel Trunk contains suggested lesson plans with Georgia Performance Standards correlations and information about local history during the Civil War. Lesson plans address Social Studies, U. S. History, English and Language Arts, Math, Music and Fine Arts standards. The Travel Trunk is available year-round. Check out the Trunk for a period of two weeks. Share it with your team members. There are no fees to use the Travel Trunk.
